SPANISH PREPOSITIONS



Definition: The Spanish language has a relatively large number of prepositions. Prepositions define relationships between other words in the sentence. the most common Spanish prepositions are:

to, toward a
before; in the presence of ante
beneath, under bajo
with con
against; in exchange for contra
of; from; about de
from, since desde
in, inside, within en
between entre
towards, at, by, up to hacia, hasta
for, to, in order to, toward para
for; by por
according to según
without sin
below, under, beneath so
over, above; about sobre
behind, after tras

Examples in Spanish:

cusco is in peru
cusco está en peru.

the train arrives at 12:30
el tren llega a las doce y media

It's a chocolate cake
es un pastel de chocolate

I'd like a coffee without sugar, please.
quisiera un café sin azúcar, por favor.

Joseluis goes from cusco to piura by car
Joseluis va desde cusco hasta piura por carro.

she is going to bring the mirror
ella va a traer el espejo.

before playing juan finished the homework
antes de jugar, juan terminó los deberes.

she's coming with us
se viene con nosotros.

I'm going to peru
voy a peru.

I'm from spain
soy de españa.
